Week 3 & 4 / Project 1B: Digital Collage


Week 3 Lecture

Mr. Fauzi gave a short lecture on the basics of Photoshop, introducing students to the lasso tool, pen tool, and layering. This is to prepare students for their digital collage.

Week 4 Lecture

Mr. Fauzi gave us a deeper understanding of the tools of Photoshop, this time looking at colors and how we can adjust them using tools such as filters, opacity, and adjustment layers.


1. Instructions

1. Download all of the images here to your computer:

2. Follow this tutorial demo as reference to create your digital collage:

3. Create 3 different composition digital collages from the images that you’ve downloaded.

4. Create A4 canvas size (vertical) on Photoshop and start to do the compositions.

5. Take 3 photo of your digital collage compositions and insert it on the section below

6. Submit (Turn In) this file in Google Classroom

After a consultation session, Mr. Fauzi helped students to decide which digital collage out of the 3 were going to be moving forward to the next step.

The next step is to play with adjustment layers and filters on our chosen collage. Below are the adjustments used:

  • Hue/Saturation
  • Black & White
  • Photo Filter

2. Reflection

In weeks three and four, we focused on creating digital collages using a provided set of elements. I appreciated this week as it marked the beginning of working with Photoshop, where I had the chance to apply various tools to enhance my design. This hands-on experience helped me become more comfortable with the software and its features.
